Tel Aviv University, established in 1956, offers the most comprehensive range of study areas and research opportunities in Israel.

It has 26,000 students in 106 departments and promotes interdisciplinary cooperation in its programs to tear down barriers between classic areas of study.

The university encourages researchers and students to work together in new and surprising directions. TAU is also a pioneer in affirmative action, wide-scale community programs, and builds bridges with universities globally. Among its 2,200 faculty members are internationally renowned scientists who have made significant contributions to the fields of particle physics, astronomy, cell biology, biotechnology, genetics, agriculture, and fibre optics, as well as in every area of the humanities, social sciences, medicine and law.

Canadian Friends of Tel Aviv University seeks to increase local awareness of the university’s excellence in academic and research programs and to provide financial support through fundraising.
